International Exposure

The partnership between the Environmental Geography and overseas universities is the key to the International Undergraduate Program. This collaboration is implemented gradually through networking and regional strategies, involving ASEAN, Asian, American, and European countries. The collaborating universities are required to support elective specializations for the students. During the enrollment period, the student is required to have at least one international exposure to the following programs:

  1. Student Exchange
  2. Study Abroad
  3. Summer/Winter School
  4. Joint Research and Supervision
  5. International Internship
  6. International Competition
  7. International Conference

Students of International Undergraduate Program are required to have international exposure as aforementioned. Student exchange is conducted for 1 semester, preferably in the 5th semester. Before attending students exchange program, students should select the courses in the partner university to take during their study at the partner university. In order to prepare for the exchange program, students are urged to consult their preference to program management at least 1 semester before their departure. The applicants should meet the requirements of partner universities, which includes English proficiency test and other required languages. The study abroad program is carried out in a shorter period in the same semester. The exchange programs are part of the manifestation of “Merdeka Belajar” (Independent Learning)– as mandated by the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Another alternative program for international exposure is the involvement in shorter international events, such as summer courses, winter courses, massive open online course, international seminar etc. The summer/winter school program is generally carried out for 2 weeks to 1 month at the partner university, and possibly includes joint research and supervision. In the 5th or 8th semester, students are allowed to apply for internship programs at international institutions related to the field of environmental geography. Students can also apply to various international competitions or international conferences held in Indonesia or abroad.
